Caricature

Caricature is a picture or a drawing of a person where the features of the face and/or body are emphasized or de-emphasized to create a humorous effect. There are varying degrees of distortion from picture to picture and also from artist to artist.

Caricaturing is NOT portraiture because it is not an EXACT likeness. But a healthy dose of likeness should be in a caricature so that you can tell who it is !

Caricature for Events
I had been doing caricature for functions and dinner & dance event over 10 years. My caricatures are mainly for special gift idea or for party that needs a unique touch. It was really fun that I can draw so many people in the those events.

Normally, the organiser will pay me per hour basis and I just need to give free drawing for the guest within indicated hours. It always a lots of people come to my counter to get my free fast caricature for them with long queing.

Drawing Style
The person being drawn will be looks more pretty or handsome, some said it looks young.

I take 3 to 5 minutes to draw a person using black crayon on A4 size paper, and I always challenge myself : how fast to capture a person's face, how fast I can draw it out with still keeping the best quality etc .
